A-Pillar: A-pillar is the roof support on either side of a car's windshield.

A-Pillars are also used to reinforce the upper side of the roof so not does it support the windshield, but it also protects the driver in case of an accident and or if the car rolls.

A-pillars are also sometimes (more commonly) used by car enthusiasts to mount different dials that inform the driver of the crucial (to some) information about the engine and or accessories in the car (ie. battery gauge, oil pressure, water temperature and or tachometers). There are some A-Pillar moldings available for specific cars, some are universal however most (at this stage) are costum made to suit specific cars and or dials that are required to be inserted.
