Exhaust Manifold - Extractors: The Exhaust manifold is a tube that carries waste products of combustion from the cylinders. On overhead-valve engines (typical engines) it is bolted to the side of the engine cylinder head. Exhaust manifolds may be single iron castings or may be cast in sections. They have a smooth interior surface with no abrupt change in size. Iron castings are cheap for car manufacturers to obtain have a durable life.

The standard exhaust manifold in many cars are suitable in normal, everyday, car use however if you have a modified engine and want to improve engine performance, replacement of the exhaust manifold with extractors would benefit most cars, if the correct extractor is chosen, the emitting gases are able to be 'extracted' faster thus making the engine more efficient thus more 'power' is created.
Extractors - Headers
In most cases are normally brought as an 'aftermarket' component. They are in most occasion made from stainless steel, are lighter in weight than the 'standard' manifold found in production cars, improved 'extracting capability's.
