Exhaust System: A vehicle's exhaust system is a complex automotive parts assembly. And it consists of an exhaust manifold or extractors, pipe work, Catalytic Converter (s), a muffler and in some cases an exhaust tip. The theory behind the exhaust system is to perform a series of important functions, including the ability to:

» Carry engine exhaust gases safely to the rear of the vehicle.
» Reduce the engine sound level.
» Maintain engine performance.
» Reduce harmful emissions through the use of a catalytic converter.
A worn exhaust system can allow exhaust gases to enter the passenger compartment and negatively impact:

» Engine performance,
» Sound quality,
» Release of emissions into the environment.
