HDi: High-Pressure Direct injection - Under this system, the fuel (Diesel) is injected under high pressure directly into the combustion chamber. The HDI badge, therefore, identifies both this new type of engine and those cars in the Peugeot diesel range that are equipped with the HDi system.
The HDI motor offers a fuel saving of 20% compared to the previous generation of diesel engine. Service intervals are also further apart, every 20,000 km instead of every 15,000 km.
