Tire Maintenance: Inspect them regularly. Tires that are improperly cared for can accelerate tire wear and result in increased fuel consumption and accidents. Refer to your owner's manual for correct air pressure, maximum vehicle load, cold tire pressure and recommended tire size.
Check your tires for:

» Proper inflation,
» Uneven wear,
» Stones, glass or other objects imbedded in the tread,
» Punctures.

Proper inflation:

Use a tire gauge to check tire pressure of all tires, including your spare, at least once a month and before every long road trip. For a more accurate assessment, inspect them before the vehicle has been driven (while tires are still cold).

Underinflation:

» Is the leading cause of tire failure,
» Increases fuel consumption,
» Can greatly diminish a tire's life.

To save fuel and make your tires last longer:

» Make sure your tires are properly inflated at all times,
» Rotate your tires from front to rear and side to side.
